What Is Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS)?
Comfort Care Dental offers various services to help your children maintain healthy teeth and gums. They accept payments from the Child Dental Benefits Schedule that provides funding up to $1,000 for multiple services over a two-year calendar period.
The Child Dental Benefits Schedule, or CDBS, is a Medicare programme that covers various dental procedures for children aged 2-17. It includes dental examinations, routine cleaning, fillings, and root canal treatments if they are needed to ensure your child has healthy teeth. If you qualify for specific payments, it may cover some of your dental expenses, including dental assessments and routine cleanings, but not orthodontic treatments or aesthetic care.
Treatments Covered by CDBS
Some dental treatments are covered by CBDS. The government has created a list of services for CDBS beneficiaries to ensure patients receive high-quality healthcare. These include the following basic dental treatments:
- Dental examinations
- X-rays
- Cleanings
- Fissure sealing
- Dental fillings
- Root canal treatment
- Tooth extraction
The maximum benefit for dental care is $1,000 per child every year. The coverage limit can’t exceed that amount and will drop if you’ve already received more than two years’ benefits.
Child Eligibility for Child Dental Benefits Schedule
The Australian government determines your child’s eligibility for several benefits, and you will receive an email if they are eligible. These include children who meet all requirements to be covered by the programme and those receiving one or more payments from:
